The Sumitomo SH380LHD-7 is a large, heavy-duty crawler excavator built for high-capacity work in demanding environments such as infrastructure projects, quarrying, and mining. With an operating weight of around 38.5 tonnes and a bucket capacity of roughly 1.93 m³, it is powered by a 200 kW Isuzu diesel engine, delivering very strong digging forces (up to about 244 kN with power boost) and a maximum digging depth of approximately 6.7–7.3 m. Designed with a reinforced boom and arm for heavy-duty applications, it also features Sumitomo’s advanced hydraulic and engine systems to maximise productivity while reducing fuel consumption and environmental impact. Overall, it offers a combination of high power, durability, and efficiency, making it well suited to continuous, large-scale excavation work.
